Whenever I make kadala curry , with a portion of kala chana I make Sundal which is a healthy accompaniment with drinks and also with rice. It is very easy to make and does not require any chopping or cooking time.
Kala chana- 1 cup, soaked overnight
Coconut-3-4 tbsp grated
Tadka-oil, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp urad dal, a pinch asafoetida, curry leaves, 3 whole red chillis
1. Pressure cook the chickpeas with salt and water. Drain and keep it aside.
2. In little oil add all the tadka ingredients. When mustard seeds splutter, add the chickpeas and mix for 2-3 min.
3. Add the grated coconut and mix again for 3 minutes. Serve hot with rice or eat it as a healthy snack.
