This is a traditional kerala dish made with ripe mangoes. It is sweet, sour and tangy and it is a part of traditional sadya or meal.
Ripe mangoes-2, chopped
cumin seeds-1 tsp
salt and chilli powder-1tsp
Yoghurt (sour)-1 cup
Brown sugar-1 tsp (optional)
Tadka-oil, mustard seeds, methi seeds 1 tsp each, curry leaves, whole red chillis- few
1. In a saucepan cook mangoes with salt and chilli powder in 2 tbsp water till it is soft.
2. In the mean time grind coconut ,green chillis and cumin seeds.
3. Add the ground coconut mixture and sugar to the mangoes and cook for 10 min. Switch off the heat
4. Mix in beaten sour yoghurt. Add tadka
