Jeera rice

This is the simplest rice preparation of all and my favourite too. If I have unexpected guests then this is usually what I make. It doesnt need much ingredients yet it is full of flavour. With dal or lentil curry and yoghurt it becomes a hearty meal.
Basmati Rice- 2 cups, soaked in water(for 30 min) then washed and drained
Jeera/cumin-1 tsp
cinnamon stick-1"
Oil- little
1.In oil add cinnamon,then the cumin, when it splutters the rice
2. Fry it turns opaque about 3 min. Add 3.5 cups of hot water.
3. I usually transfer it rice cooker or you can cook till water is absorbed.
4. Serve with dal and yoghurt or dahi tadka.
