Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani

This is made every weekend by Ashok since I dont handle non-veg. I have been told that it tastes very good or they may be just being polite. I am inserting this recipe coz it  doesnt require any marination or chopping yet the whole neighbourhood  smells of biryani.
Ingredients:
Chicken-2 kg
 yoghurt-2 cup
coriander and mint leaves-1 bunch each chopped (this is essential!!)
green chilli-4,chopped
ginger garlic paste-1 tbsp
whole peppercorns-1 tsp
spices- 2tsp chlli powder,4 tsp coriander powder,1tsp cumin powder
whole spices- cinnamon,cardamom,bayleaf,cumin seeds-1 tsp
oil-2tsp
fried onions-handful.....optional
salt
Basmati Rice-4 cups, soaked ,drained and 75% cooked.......(takes 6 min in boiling water)
oil-1 tsp

Method:
1.Add ingredients upto &including salt to the chicken and mix. ( yes, including oil and whole spices!!!!)
2. Meanwhile cook rice till 75% done........in plenty of boiling water with salt,1tsp oil and drain it.......takes 5 min.
3. In a large non stick vessel, put the chicken mixture at the bottom, top it with the rice ,Cover and seal the vessel with atta or cling film and let it cook on high flame for 10 min and then on lowest flame for .....about 45 min.
4. The rice would have absorbed the aroma and chicken would have cooked ...in dum.
6. It is simple.....no onions, tomato,or biryani masala orstirring.
